Frequently Asked Questions

General Information

  • What are your worship gatherings like?
We design our worship celebration services to honor God, to deliver relevant teaching and engaging worship to the congregation, and to create a sense of community for our church family.  In our services we sing praise to God, we receive teaching from the Word, and we fellowship together.  Pastor Scott preaches in a conversational, easy to follow style that challenges your heart while holding your attention.  The music is lead passionately and maintains its focus on God and drawing close to him.  No one is singled out or put on the spot.  We do our best to keep flow and momentum going so no one is left guessing what will happen next.  We hope you'll come see for yourself!
  • Will I be forced to do anything I don't want to do?
In short, no.  We want you as a new visitor to be comfortable being yourself.  We're not trying to fit you into a mold that we've created.  We want to think outside the box and present the message of hope in Jesus Christ in a way that matters to you.  That means that you grow at your own pace.  If you want to come for three months and just observe, we will wait for you to let us know when you want to become more involved.  We're here to give you the opportunity to connect with God and to let you know that we're here for you.
  • What is the music like?
We currently have one service that utilizes both contemporary and traditional styles.  With that said, the praise team tends to lead with a modern feel.  Even hymns are delivered in a modern style maintaining the meaningful theology of the original version with updated musical interpretation.  The choir sings a wide variety of selections ranging from contemporary to traditional as well.  We are willing to use many methods to achieve a spirit of unity and focus on our Savior.
  • What do I wear?
Wear what you would like.  We believe that God is more concerned about the inside of a person, rather than the outside.  You'll find a person in jeans sitting next to a person in a tie here.  We're focused on setting a comfortable, relaxed atmosphere that will allow anyone to experience God.
  • What do you offer the various members of my family?
There is a lot going on during any given week here at Lakeholm for children, teens, and adults.  Be sure to visit our various ministry pages for more information.
