God designed us to be in relationships with each other and with Him. He wants us to be able to gather together in love and support as we worship Him. Here are a few ways that we hope you will feel connected when you come to Lakeholm:
- Connecting with God in worship
We believe that there is a void in every one of us that only God can fill. That is why we want to help you connect to God in very real ways during our Sunday morning worship service. We want to create an atmosphere where you feel comfortable exploring the idea of worship and how that fits into your relationship with God. It is our hope that eventually you may move from a spectator to a participator as you begin to understand what God desires for you. He designed us to need Him and our spiritual health and growth hinges on the idea of connecting with Him in worship.
- Connecting and Reconnecting with Family
Many of us have been damaged by our past and the hardships of life. Often we bring emotional baggage into our relationship with God. Perhaps you're even currently struggling through some tough spots in your marriage or have strained relationships with your children or parents. All of these feelings can put up some pretty thick walls between you and any type of healthy connection to finding the help that you need. At Lakeholm we emphasize that a connection with God has to be established before any lasting healing can begin in your marriage and home life. The good news is that it is possible and we can help you on that journey. Taking the first steps toward God will equip you to have healthier relationships with everyone around you.
- Connecting with Friends
We've already established that we need relationships. It is very important to surround yourself with people who will help share your life's struggles as you begin to talk with God about what it means to have a relationship with Him. We will help you connect with people who will listen and encourage you as you become the person you want to be. It begins with saying hi to some friendly faces on Sunday morning and then can develop into getting involved in a Sunday School class and eventually a Life Group (which we'll talk more about in the "Grow" section). If you've ever felt like an outsider we want you to know that you don't have to feel that way anymore.
