Serve

The intent of growth is that you will come to realize that you have a very specific place in the body of Christ.  Part of the growth process at Lakeholm is to assess what your particular gift or gifts are and then encourage you to begin to utilize those for the Kingdom of God.  This application is defined as service.  Serving can happen inside and outside the walls of the church.

- Serving In the Church
A properly functioning church is a church that is serving each other.  We believe that you have something that is vitally important to how we function as a church and that if you are not doing your part, then something will be missing that could be better.  We will take the time to discover what areas of service best fit your personality and passion and give you opportunities to use your God-given abilities to make a difference in people's lives. 

- Serving Outside the Church
We have all been called to go and make disciples in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.  Jesus commands us to do this and also tells us that he will be with us always (Matthew 28:19-20).  This may seem like a great idea but sometimes it's hard to know where to begin.  Do we hop on the first bus out of town to go help people with needs in far away places?  That is certainly an option, but there are also needs in your own neighborhood that God can meet specifically through you if you are willing and ready.  We at Lakeholm want to help you move from being a disciple of Christ to becoming a disciple-maker of Christ.  We will also give you opportunities to serve in your hometown as well as in other areas of the world.  If we give God our willing heart, he will do the rest.
