Dean Flemming - Missionary to Switzerland

Dean Flemming is a global missionary, appointed in 1986, and currently serving in Schaffhausen, Switzerland.

Dean graduated from MidAmerica Nazarene University in 1975.  He grew up in a Nazarene parsonage (his father, Floyd, is a member of Lakeholm) and received a call into the ministry as a young child.  While participating in a summer ministries program in Africa, Dean began to sense God’s leadership into missions.  This was confirmed during his studies at Nazarene Theological Seminary where he concentrated in missions.  He graduated with a M.Div. degree in 1979.

Following graduation from seminary, Dean pastored Nazarene churches in Okinawa, Japan, and Ohio.  In 1982, he was ordained and began Ph.D. studies in New Testament at the University of Aberdeen in Scotland, which he completed in 1987.  He currently teaches at European Nazarene College in Schaffhausen, Switzerland, as well as at various extension education centers in Europe.  Prior to his current assignment, Dean served as a professor at Asia-Pacific Nazarene Theological Seminary in the Philippines for eight years.
